Job Description
A highly respected regional law firm in South Carolina is seeking an employment attorney to join its Greenville office. This is an excellent opportunity to work with sophisticated employers across a broad range of labor and employment matters while collaborating with experienced attorneys in a collegial, high-performing environment. The attorney will advise public and private-sector clients on workplace issues, employment litigation, compliance, investigations, employee relations, and strategic risk management.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Counseling employers on federal and state employment laws
- Handling employment litigation, administrative claims, and agency matters
- Advising on hiring, termination, wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, leave, and accommodation issues
- Conducting workplace investigations and preparing policies and training materials
- Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, handbooks, and restrictive covenants
- Representing clients before agencies such as the EEOC and South Carolina Human Affairs Commission
- Managing matters independently while working collaboratively with clients and firm teams
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the South Carolina Bar, or eligibility for admission
- Employment law, labor law, or litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal writing, research, advocacy, and communication skills
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and client-service skills
