Founded in 1958, our firm has earned a reputation for providing high-quality legal representation to businesses and individuals throughout Southeast Texas. We are seeking an attorney with at least three (3) years of civil litigation experience and who is capable of independently managing a litigation docket while contributing to the continued growth of our litigation practice. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an attorney seeking a long-term career with a respected firm. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned trial attorneys while gradually assuming responsibility for an established litigation practice. We are looking for an attorney who is committed to building a long-term practice and becoming an integral part of the firm's future. Representative Practice Areas Commercial and business litigation Construction litigation Insurance defense Personal injury and wrongful death defense Premises liability Products liability Employment litigation Real estate litigation Probate and fiduciary litigation Creditors' rights and collections Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration Appeals, when appropriate Responsibilities Independently manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial and appeal, when appropriate. Develop litigation strategy and provide practical, results-oriented legal advice to clients. Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents. Manage all aspects of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, expert witness matters, and motion practice. Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and other court proceedings. Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional client service. Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm's litigation practice. Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing. Minimum of three (3) years of civil litigation experience, including meaningful trial experience. Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation docket. Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. Sound professional judgment, strong work ethic, and commitment to the highest ethical standards. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain lasting client relationships. Desire to build a long-term practice and pursue partnership opportunities within the firm.
