Bankruptcy Specialist (Auto Loan Servicing) Must have Bankruptcy experience listed on Resume Bilingual aPlus NOTE:
This position is NOT remote and will be required to be on site full timeRESPONSIBILITIES
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Bankruptcy Specialist performs various tasks relating to accounts where the Company's customer has filed for bankruptcy protection. This employee is responsible for continuing to protect the Company's interest while the account is in bankruptcy. This employee has contact with other Company departments, Innovate's outside counsel, Bankruptcy Trustee, as well as the customer and the customer's bankruptcy counsel.Essential Functions:
- Review bankruptcy filings and/or documents (such as bankruptcy plans, attorney referrals, docket reports, and etc.) and make decisions regarding necessary and appropriate course of action.
- Conduct searches of current or previous bankruptcy cases using PACER or
LEXIS\NEXIS
systems- Execute day-to-day strategies and actively contribute to center performance objectives
- Ensure actions are in compliance with company policies and laws
- Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements
- Correspond with Attorneys trustees, customers, third parties and vendors on bankruptcy related issues
- Maximize productive time by utilizing effective time management skills
- Accurately document servicing activity in the appropriate system of record
- Utilize collection tools appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced understanding of Bankruptcy/Collection policies, procedures and processes
- Advanced understanding of Loss Mitigation/Loss Recovery policies, procedures and processes
- Understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgment and logic when solving problems and making decisions
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Detail oriented
- Ability to negotiation effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Accurate entry skills
- Mathematical ability in relation to arranging payment plans and calculating past due accounts
