Job Description
Job Overview Haim Vasquez Legal Group is a family- and removal-defense immigration firm with an established and growing criminal defense practice based in Irving, Texas. We are seeking an additional Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team and support the continued growth of this practice area. About the Role We are looking for a licensed Texas attorney with 2-3 years of criminal defense or prosecutorial experience, strong legal writing and courtroom skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset while working alongside our existing criminal defense team to provide strong, compassionate representation to our clients. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in criminal defense matters ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. Handle arraignments, motions, plea negotiations, trials, and post-conviction issues. Collaborate with our immigration attorneys to evaluate the immigration consequences of criminal charges. Provide high-quality client communication and maintain case files in an organized manner. Contribute to shaping the policies, procedures, and strategic vision of the criminal defense department. Qualifications J.D. and active license to practice law in Texas (in good standing). 2-3 years of experience in criminal defense or as a prosecutor. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required. Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing skills. Commitment to serving immigrant and working-class communities. Why Join Us?
