Assistant District Attorney- 286th District Job Summary This job requires knowledge of all phases of criminal prosecution and law enforcement procedures, has daily contact with the public, law enforcement and is responsible for handling felony cases from intake through trial. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• All aspects of prosecution of felony cases, including case screening, preparation of pleadings, motions, affidavits, probable cause statements, witness preparation, and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, criminal bench trials, and jury trials.
• Formulates, justifies, and communicates plea offers in felony cases
• Performs legal research and writing
• Advises law enforcement agencies and officers of criminal law and criminal procedures
• Other duties as assigned by the Criminal District Attorney Education and Experience
• Graduation from an accredited law school
