Litigation Attorney Litigation Attorney Position Overview We are seeking a diligent, trial-ready Litigation Attorney to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will manage civil litigation matters from intake through trial and appeal, with a focus on personal injury and related plaintiff and defense work. This role requires strong legal research and writing skills, courtroom experience, and the ability to develop case strategy, coordinate discovery, and advocate effectively for clients in negotiations and at trial. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters, with emphasis on personal injury, tort, and general civil litigation. Conduct client intake, evaluate claims, and develop litigation strategy tailored to case objectives and client needs. Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other court filings in a timely and accurate manner. Draft persuasive briefs, legal memoranda, settlement demands, and pre-trial materials; prepare exhibits and witness lists. Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate expert testimony and investigations. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and jury or bench trials as necessary. Negotiate settlements and structured resolutions to achieve favorable client outcomes while maintaining ethical standards. Collaborate with paralegals, investigators, and other attorneys to manage discovery, trial preparation, and client communications. Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and local procedures. Develop and maintain client relationships, communicate case developments clearly, and provide practical legal advice. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing. 3+ years of litigation experience, including civil litigation and personal injury matters; trial experience preferred. Demonstrated skills in legal research, writing, motion practice, and oral advocacy. Experience conducting depositions, taking and defending discovery, and managing expert witnesses. Strong negotiation skills and a history of achieving favorable settlements and trial outcomes. Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills, with the capacity to present complex legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues. High ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to zealous client representation. Familiarity with case management software, e-filing systems, and document management tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
