Litigation Attorney Manager Litigation Attorney Manager Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney Manager to lead and grow our litigation practice. The manager will oversee case strategy and workflow for a team of litigators and support staff, drive high-quality legal representation in civil and personal injury matters, and ensure consistent client service, efficient operations, and strong courtroom advocacy. This role balances active casework with leadership responsibilities including mentoring, performance management, and collaboration with firm leadership to meet financial and organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of attorneys and paralegals managing civil litigation and personal injury cases, including assignment of matters and workload balancing. Develop and implement litigation strategies, manage case budgets, and oversee discovery, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Directly manage a caseload of complex matters, appearing in court, handling hearings, mediations, and trials as needed. Train, mentor, and evaluate legal staff, provide regular feedback, and support professional development and recruitment efforts. Coordinate with claims managers, outside counsel, and expert witnesses to ensure high-quality casework and cost-effective representation. Ensure compliance with court rules, firm policies, ethical obligations, and client reporting requirements. Monitor case metrics, billing, and KPIs; work with finance/operations to meet revenue and profitability targets. Drive client communication and relationship management, ensuring timely updates and a client-first approach. Implement and optimize legal technology and process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency across the team. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in relevant jurisdiction(s). 7+ years of progressive litigation experience, with substantial exposure to civil litigation and personal injury matters; trial experience strongly preferred. Proven supervisory or management experience leading attorneys and legal staff, with the ability to coach, evaluate, and develop teams. Demonstrated success in case strategy, negotiation, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy. Excellent written and oral communication, client management, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and oversee budgets. Familiarity with e-discovery, case management systems, legal research tools, and billing software. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership style. Willingness to travel to court appearances and client meetings as required.
