In this role, you will be responsible for managing personal injury cases from inception through resolution, advocating fiercely for clients who have suffered injuries due to accidents or negligence. Your expertise will help clients secure fair compensation while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by personal injuries, utilizing your comprehensive legal knowledge and negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of personal injury claims, including auto accidents, slip and falls, and workplace injuries, from initial client consultation through settlement or trial. Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies and stay current on relevant laws and regulations. Draft detailed legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and trial briefs with precision and clarity. Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to maximize client compensation while maintaining professionalism and integrity. Advocate for clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, presenting compelling arguments supported by evidence and legal precedent. Collaborate with experts in fields such as medical professionals or accident reconstruction specialists to strengthen case merits. Maintain meticulous case records, ensure compliance with all legal administrative processes, and provide regular updates to clients on case progress. Skills Extensive knowledge of personal injury law principles and procedures specific to Utah jurisdiction. Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms to gather pertinent case law and statutory information. Excellent legal drafting abilities for preparing comprehensive pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and settlement agreements. Proven negotiation skills to secure optimal settlements for clients while managing expectations effectively. Familiarity with related practice areas such as estate planning, family law, workers' compensation law, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, securities law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, litigation strategies, and legal administrative experience. Ability to handle complex litigation cases with confidence while adhering to ethical standards. Strong writing skills for clear communication in legal documents and client correspondence.
