Associate Attorney - Social Security Disability Established (100+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Social Security Disability in Richmond, VA An established Virginia-based firm with over 100 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney to handle Social Security Disability (SSDI and SSI) matters onsite in Richmond, VA , with Alexandria, VA also available as an option, though Richmond is preferred. This role offers flexibility on years of experience and centers on guiding clients through the full disability process, from initial claims and applications through appeals and hearings , with workers' compensation or plaintiff personal injury experience considered a valuable plus. Offer Salary range $100,000-$150,000+ contingent on experience Comprehensive medical dental and vision benefits 401(k) with employer match fully vested from day one HSA and FSA options Life AD&D and disability coverage Employee assistance program and referral incentives Paid time off with 18 days PTO and 29 total days off annually Eleven paid holidays each year Paperless office with cloud-based systems for efficiency and collaboration Qualifications Bring experience handling Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income claims with flexibility on total years in practice Hold familiarity with the disability application reconsideration and hearing process Offer workers' compensation or plaintiff personal injury experience as a valued plus Maintain active Virginia Bar membership in good standing Demonstrate strong analytical communication and organizational skills Show a client-focused approach with the ability to guide individuals through a multi-stage process Responsibilities Guide clients through the entire Social Security Disability process from initial application through resolution Assist individuals with existing claims as well as new filings for benefits Prepare and file appeals on behalf of clients who have received denials Represent clients throughout the hearing and appeals process Gather and organize medical and vocational evidence to support each claim Maintain consistent communication with clients to ensure exceptional service throughout the duration of their cases For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
