Full-Time | Practice Area Leadership Whalley Law is seeking an experienced, growth-minded Employment Law Attorney to lead, scale, and take full operational ownership of our expanding Employment Law section. Whalley Law represents workers across Pierce, King, Thurston, Kitsap, and Spokane counties in high-stakes workplace disputes. We are building a premier statewide employee-rights practice focused on wrongful termination, workplace harassment, discrimination, and wage theft under the Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD) and federal law. If you are an experienced employment litigator ready to lead our growing employment law division.
Key Responsibilities Practice Group Leadership:
Assume complete oversight of Whalley Law's employment law section, establishing case strategies, intake protocols, and growth milestones for employee-side representation statewide.
Litigate Complex Workplace Claims:
Manage an active litigation docket including wrongful termination, severe harassment/hostile work environment, WLAD discrimination, disability accommodations, retaliatory discharge, and wage & hour violations.
Agency & Court Representation:
Represent clients through all phases of dispute resolution, including internal employer investigations, EEOC/Washington State Human Rights Commission (WSHRC) filings, mediations, depositions, and litigation in state and federal courts.
Pre-Litigation Resolution:
Evaluate potential cases, negotiate high-value severance packages, and draft pre-suit demand letters to secure efficient resolutions for executive and worker clients. Qualifications & Experience Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) . 5+ years of dedicated employment law litigation experience in Washington State, with a heavy emphasis on plaintiff/employee-side representation. Deep working knowledge of Washington's Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), Title VII, ADA, FMLA/PFML, Wrongful Termination, and Washington wage and hour statutes. Demonstrated track record of handling depositions, dispositive motions, mediations, and trial preparation in superior and federal district courts. Strong entrepreneurial drive, exceptional advocacy skills, and the ability to mentor paralegals and junior staff.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$85,000 - $150,000+ (commensurate with experience) plus significant origination and revenue-share bonus structure tied to practice group performance.
