Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Family Support Partner, where you will play a vital role in empowering families and strengthening communities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive support to families navigating complex challenges related to mental health, substance use, and child and family services. As a Family Support Partner, you will serve as a trusted mentor and resource connector, helping families access community services, develop resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to fostering healthier, more supportive environments for children and their families. Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with families by providing empathetic, culturally sensitive support tailored to their unique needs. Assist families in navigating community resources related to mental health, addiction counseling, child welfare, and social services. Offer mentoring and peer support to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underserved communities and high-risk populations. Coordinate with local organizations to connect families with appropriate services such as housing, healthcare, education, and employment assistance. Support families through conflict management strategies and teach effective caregiving techniques to promote stability and well-being. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and ensure respectful communication at all times. Advocate for families' needs within the community by fostering empowerment and encouraging active participation in their own care plans. Requirements Demonstrated cultural competency with experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations. Prior experience working with children, youth, or families in social work or child & family services settings. Knowledge of community resources related to mental health, addiction recovery, child welfare, and social support systems. Strong skills in client communication, conflict management, teaching, and mentoring. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining professionalism. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or mental health conditions is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a compassionate approach to supporting high-risk populations.
