Qualcomm is a global leader in innovation and intellectual property. Our Intellectual Property Department (IPD) is seeking a Legal Support, Senior to join its Operations team. This position plays an important role in supporting the management of Qualcomm's global patent portfolio and related operational processes. We are seeking a motivated professional who is eager to learn, embraces innovation, and is interested in developing new skills as the department leverages AI and other emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and drive continuous improvement. The Legal Support Professional is responsible for managing a portfolio of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution support activities, including the preparation, review, and filing of patent-related documents with the USPTO, as well as coordinating administrative requirements throughout the IP Lifecycle. This role requires extensive use of internal systems to maintain accurate patent records, manage deadlines, track workflow status, and support the timely execution of prosecution activities. The position works closely with attorneys, inventors, engineers, outside counsel, and operations teams across global locations. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Success in this role requires careful review of legal documents, accurate data management, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established legal and ethical frameworks. Beyond core prosecution support responsibilities, this individual will have opportunities to contribute to process improvement and operational excellence initiatives. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, eager to learn, and interested in understanding how technology can improve legal operations. This includes a willingness to explore, adopt, and responsibly utilize emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, automation, and workflow solutions. - 2-4 year college degree OR paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years professional business experience
- 2+ years' experience in IP legal field
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Good communication and coordination skills
- This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.
- Position requires to be onsite in San Diego, 5 days a week.
