Intern Department:

Gainesville, FL Reporting To:
Deputy General Counsel, Business Ops Description This role supports the Legal and Compliance Department in matters of both legal research and legal operations, providing exposure to contract management and substantive legal work across multiple areas of the business. Key Responsibilities Conduct legal research on data privacy laws across jurisdictions and the U.S. Research intellectual property and trade secret standards and applications Draft internal memoranda summarizing findings and recommendations Assist in updating internal policies, templates, and compliance documentation Organize and maintain contract records, evaluating for missing documents and outdated agreements Track and report on contract status (active, archived, missing) and flag risks Support audits or internal reviews by preparing and organizing legal documentation Partner with Legal team members to prioritize work and provide progress updates
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Education:
Currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD); rising 2L or 3L preferred
Experience:
Prior internship, externship, or coursework in legal research, writing, or compliance preferred Experience working with documents, records, or data organization is a plus
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to conduct legal research and synthesize findings clearly Effective written communication skills, particularly for drafting summaries or memoranda Basic understanding or interest in data privacy, intellectual property, or contract management Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance
