The Administrative Legal Clerk provides administrative and operational support to the Legal team by assisting with the processing and administration of legal documents and member account inquiries. This position serves as a liaison between the Legal team, Member Solutions Department, and other internal staff, members, attorneys, courts, and government agencies. Responsibilities include processing mail, wage garnishments, levies, subpoenas, bankruptcies, and other legal documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures. This role also supports member service efforts by assisting with account inquiries, payment arrangements, collection-related questions, and explaining legal and bankruptcy processes. The Administrative Legal Clerk does not provide legal advice or legal opinions. This is a temporary employment opportunity with a duration of six (6) months. The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Legal Clerk include, but are not limited to: Receiving, reviewing, and tracking legal documents, including wage garnishments, tax levies, subpoenas, bankruptcy notices, court orders, and other related correspondence. Preparing routine documentation and monitoring deadline to support timely responses to legal-related requests. Answering incoming calls and responding to member inquiries regarding account status, legal notices, collections activity, and payment options. Communicating with attorneys, court employers, government agencies, members, and internal team members regarding legal processing, account research, and resolution of concerns. Maintaining legal files, records, account notes, and documentation in accordance with retention policies and confidentiality expectations. Collaborating with Member Solutions team members and other internal staff to support collection efforts and resolve account-related concerns. Supporting departmental projects, audits, and other duties as needed to effectively assist Legal team operations. High School or GED or better.
