Job Summary:
The Due Process Education Support Professional provides essential administrative and organizational support to the Special Education/Due Process department. This position is responsible for managing, organizing, sorting, and filing sensitive student and legal documentation, maintaining accurate records across multiple electronic platforms, and supporting due process activities across multiple school sites. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, maintains strict confidentiality standards, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize, sort, and file due process documents, records, and correspondence in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines (including IDEA and FERPA requirements). Maintain and update student records across multiple electronic platforms and databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information. Communicate and work closely with Special Education team members, case managers, Special Education coaches, and site administrators. Maintain strict confidentiality of student records, legal documents, and sensitive family information at all times. Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or process gaps and proactively problem-solve to resolve them. Assist with archiving, retrieving, and purging records according to retention schedules and legal requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a special education or due process/compliance setting. Possesses solid written and verbal communication skills, along with good organization and time management. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks. Strong computer skills, including Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat Pro and internal tools.
