Job Description

The Legal Operations Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing legal correspondence within Stride's Legal Operations Department. Their primary duties include sorting, distributing, and tracking legal documents, as well as operating office equipment including scanners and other tracking software. The Legal Operations Clerk will also be responsible for ensuring that legal documents are processed accurately and delivered promptly, adhering to deadlines.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritizes and processes incoming mail, faxes, and e-mail, focusing on time-sensitive documents. Accurately scans all physical mail received, ensuring it is routed to the appropriate team members for processing. Logs and tracks all incoming and outgoing correspondence, including receipt dates, mailing dates, and related information. Prepares and processes outgoing legal documents, ensuring appropriate postage and accurate delivery addresses. Operates scanners, copiers, fax machines, and other office equipment to manage legal correspondence efficiently. Maintains the confidentiality and security of sensitive legal documents in compliance with Bank policies. Identifies and escalates complex or unusual issues requiring managerial or legal counsel intervention. Maintains and replenishes office supplies and ensures the proper functioning of equipment essential to the role. Suggests process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. 1 -2 years' experience working in an office setting; mailroom or clerical roles, preferred. Prior experience working in legal environment, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage a high volume of documents and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail when sorting, logging, and distributing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and mailroom tracking systems. Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines. Skilled with handling various types of legal correspondence and shifting priorities. Clear and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Capable of identifying issues and proposing solutions to improve operations.
