We are currently seeking a Clerk to join our Service of Process team. Position Summary The Service of Process Clerk works at the direction of the Service of Process Manager to coordinate the timely and accurate delivery of legal documents by firm vendors to all required parties.
- The Service of Process Clerk is not responsible for serving legal documents to consumers.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the civil litigation process by coordinating the delivery of legal documents Enter status updates and service of process confirmation into the Firm's case management software Follow up with internal staff and external vendors to ensure completion of process Process daily data imports from external vendors Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)• Ability to work efficiently with excellent attention to detail in a high-volume fast paced environment Minimum one year of relevant work experience in the legal field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience Knowledge of legal terminology preferred Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point; ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer; proficient with internet research Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies Ability to maintain confidentiality
