Outdoor Retail Assignment Pay:

$24.00 per hour

Paid sick leave. Overtime is paid when applicable. Valcor Security is hiring one highly disciplined, experienced Loss Prevention Officer for a demanding outdoor retail assignment. This is not an entry-level post. The officer assigned here must bring mature judgment, strong situational awareness, consistent attendance, and a mission-first, team-oriented mindset. The assignment is primarily outdoors at the retail entrance and perimeter for most of an 8-hour shift, including hot Los Angeles weather. Legally required meal and rest breaks are provided. The successful candidate remains alert, professional, composed, and customer-aware throughout the shift. What Success Looks Like

• Arrive on time, in full uniform, prepared to take responsibility for the post.
• Maintain a commanding but professional presence that deters theft and disorder.
• Stay alert without personal-phone distraction or avoidable lapses in coverage.
• Follow post orders precisely and communicate early when an issue develops.
• Use calm verbal de-escalation and sound judgment under pressure.
• Complete clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports.
• Build trust with store management through reliability, discretion, and follow-through. Key Responsibilities
• Maintain a visible outdoor security and loss-prevention presence at the entrance and perimeter.
• Identify suspicious behavior, shoplifting indicators, organized retail theft patterns, safety concerns, and policy violations.
• Protect customers, employees, merchandise, and company assets.
• Coordinate professionally with store leadership, Valcor operations, and law enforcement when required.
• Respond to theft incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and emergencies according to post orders.
• Preserve evidence and complete timely, factual incident documentation.
• Follow all California security regulations, client procedures, and heat-safety requirements. Required Qualifications
• Active California BSIS Guard Card.
• At least 3 years of verifiable experience in retail loss prevention, asset protection, law enforcement, U.S. military service, or comparable high-accountability security operations.
• Direct retail loss-prevention or asset-protection experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong observation, verbal de-escalation, and incident-reporting skills.
• Proven record of punctuality, dependable attendance, and professional conduct.
• Ability to stand and walk outdoors for most of an 8-hour shift, including hot weather, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to commute reliably to Los Angeles, CA 90036.
• Willingness to provide professional references and verify relevant experience.
