Job Description

Overview Henshaw Law is seeking a full-time legal assistant at its Anchorage office. This is an entry-level position with the opportunity to move into a paralegal role. Henshaw Law handles a variety of matters including family law, business and general civil litigation, and criminal defense. Legal assistants will work alongside paralegals, attorneys, and clients to advance clients' interests. Responsibilities Plays key role regarding case file management and organization Collaborates with legal team to maintain visibility of deadlines and ensure case matters are handled expeditiously Performs administrative tasks such as scanning documents, downloading media files, answering client calls, responding to emails, sending out mail, and scheduling Communicates with clients in person, over the phone, and via email regarding inquiries, scheduling, and case updates Drafts, formats, and proofreads legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, letters, and contracts Prepares and files legal documents with the court, ensuring compliance with formatting requirements Aids in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, creating exhibit lists, preparing trial binders, communicating with witnesses, creating witness lists, and coordinating logistics for court appearances Assists with record and audio requests, witness subpoenas, and depositions Coordinates with process servers for service of pleadings and subpoenas Qualifications Law office experience preferred but willing to train the right person Attention to detail is a must Strong written and verbal communication Experience with client relationship management Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects Works well in collaborative environment Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously Aptitude for organizing large volumes of documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat Additional Information Interested applicants should send their resume to info@henshawlawak.com Salary $60,000+ based on experience Benefits include PTO, bonus incentives, health insurance, and 401k with company match
