Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Asbestos Trusts Filing Paralegal to join our team. In this vital role, you will assist with the preparation, review, and submission of asbestos bankruptcy trust claims while ensuring all supporting documentation complies with trust distribution procedures and legal standards. You will play a key role in managing claims from intake through payment, helping ensure efficient and accurate filings in a fast-paced mass tort litigation environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain specialized experience in asbestos litigation and bankruptcy trust claims administration. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit asbestos bankruptcy trust claims through various electronic filing platforms. Organize, review, and maintain supporting documentation, including medical records, employment records, Social Security records, military records, affidavits, and exposure evidence. Review claims for completeness and accuracy to ensure compliance with trust distribution procedures (TDPs) and filing requirements. Track claim status updates, deficiencies, audits, and payment information within the firm's case management systems. Respond to trust deficiencies and requests for additional documentation in a timely and organized manner. Communicate with clients, co-counsel, trust administrators, and internal team members regarding claim requirements and status updates. Maintain accurate electronic files and detailed claim logs throughout the life cycle of each claim. Ensure strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and firm policies. Assist attorneys and senior staff with claim strategy, audits, and special projects as needed. Requirements Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage large volumes of documentation and deadlines efficiently. Excellent computer skills is a MUST. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Proficiency in Needles, Neos or other legal case management software is a plus but not required. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications Experience with asbestos bankruptcy trust filing systems and trust claim procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology and occupational exposure documentation. Experience responding to claim deficiencies or audits. Knowledge of electronic records management and document organization.
