About Us We are a fast-growing boutique law firm dedicated to guiding clients through some of life's most challenging legal matters, including complex divorces, custody disputes, criminal defense, and personal bankruptcy filings. Our practice combines compassionate client service, strategic advocacy, and a collaborative, team-oriented culture. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the firm while contributing to a positive, client-focused workplace. Core Responsibilities Family-Law Support Case management; assist in gathering information and drafting pleadings; as well as DVRO petitions/defense; track filing deadlines across Kern county. Liaison between assigned, outsourced paralegals. Criminal-Defense Support Calendar hearings, request discovery, draft subpoenas, and prepare/assist in hearings and trial preparation. Client & Court Liaison Field client calls, schedule consultations, coordinate interpreters, and assist in court filings and service. Case Management Maintain Clio files, maintain physical files, organize exhibits, and keep attorneys trial-ready with updated task lists. General Office Duties Billing entries, conflict checks, mail scanning, and occasional reception coverage.
What We're Looking For 2+ years as a legal assistant or paralegal in family or criminal law (firm or court). Experience or familiarity of California Judicial Council forms and county e-filing systems. Comfort with tight deadlines and emotionally charged client matters.

Tech-savvy:
Microsoft 365, Adobe, cloud practice-management tools (preferably Clio), Clio Draft/Lawyaw, CEB, Quickbooks (a plus) Clear, professional communication—written and verbal. Bilingual valued. AA or paralegal certificate preferred, but equivalent experience valued.Pay & Perks Hourly Rate:
$20 - $25 per hour DOE (paid bi-weekly, non-exempt with overtime)Benefits:
