Job Description

Valdez Team at Ringler In-person (San Diego
  • Del Mar or Los Angeles
  • Montebello) | Full-time | Total annual compensation of $70,000
  • $120,000, inclusive of base salary and performance-based bonuses, commensurate with experience and capability.
This position can be performed from one of our Southern California offices. About Us The Valdez Team at Ringler helps individuals and families make informed financial choices as their settlements are being finalized. We work with them to structure a portion of their settlement through an annuity—providing reliable, tax-free income that supports their needs and goals over time. We also coordinate closely with attorneys, carriers, and other professionals to ensure that documentation, timing, and funding all come together smoothly. Our work blends law, finance, and insurance, but at its heart, it's about helping people move forward with stability, confidence, and peace of mind. About the Role We are seeking a Settlement Coordinator / Case Manager who takes ownership, thinks critically, and manages details with confidence and care. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and enjoys being part of meaningful work that truly impacts people's lives. You'll serve as a key member of our team, supporting complex cases, ensuring accuracy in every document, and helping attorneys, clients, carriers, and professional partners navigate the structured settlement process seamlessly. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate structured settlement cases from initial referral through funding and final documentation—tracking each moving piece to ensure all requirements are met by the court, annuity company, and client. Review and prepare settlement-related documents, including settlement agreements, court orders, assignment paperwork, and annuity applications, verifying that each is complete and compliant before signatures or submission. Coordinate directly with attorneys, claims professionals, trust companies, and annuity carriers to keep communication flowing—confirming approvals, obtaining signatures, and managing funding schedules. Track and manage critical timelines such as quote expirations, hearing dates, and funding deadlines to keep cases on schedule. Communicate with plaintiffs and their families to gather personal details, confirm payment instructions, and ensure all information is finalized before funding and policy issuance. Identify and resolve inconsistencies in case files, such as missing signatures, outdated rated ages, or mismatched payee information, before they cause delays. Maintain clear, detailed records of case activity so every case file reflects current status, required documentation, and a complete audit trail. Partner closely with consultants to anticipate needs, ensure timely follow-up, and collaborate on case handling when unique circumstances arise (e.g., multiple insurance carriers, special needs trusts, or orders from different courts). Representing the team with professionalism, clarity, and empathy—whether communicating with clients, attorneys, or carrier representatives. Who You Are You take pride in your work and have a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Details matter to you—you understand that accuracy and timing make all the difference in this role. You're organized, thoughtful, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing focus. You think critically, ask good questions, and look for ways to solve problems rather than waiting for direction. Your communication—both written and verbal—is clear, professional, and respectful. You remain composed under pressure and see challenges as opportunities to find better solutions. You're confident interacting with accomplished professionals and clients in high-expectation environments, maintaining composure, clarity, and professionalism in every interaction. You value teamwork and collaboration and enjoy being part of a group that holds itself to a high standard of excellence. Preferred Background Experience in structured settlements, legal, insurance, or financial services. Familiarity with settlement agreements, annuity documentation, or related case management processes. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be fully considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management or e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign). Strong understanding of timelines, document flow, and professional correspondence. Prior exposure to client-facing work that requires accuracy, discretion, and professionalism. Experience in roles such as paralegal, legal assistant, mortgage broker, escrow officer, or similar positions involving multiple stakeholders, detailed processes, and high-touch client service is highly valued. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus and helpful when working directly with clients and their families. Compensation & Benefits Compensation (salary + bonus): $70,000
