Paralegal/Legal Assistant Position. The ideal candidate will have legal knowledge of immigration-related laws. Candidates must have a client-service attitude with excellent case management skills. This paralegal will participate in all aspects of our Immigration practice, including assisting with client relationship management, case review, analysis, preparation, and filing.Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency. Communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case-processing issues, assisting with case review. Oversee case status using the case management system. Follow internal intake procedures after a client retains our firm. Make regular updates to our case management system including client information, case tracking information, and client communication. Maintain hard copy files and documents to support all immigration activity on behalf of clients. Ensure that clients are informed of their case progress. Assist attorneys and other team members to manage caseload. Complete assignments and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisors. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Immigration Law Experience (Preferred)
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Able to lift 30 lbs
- Organizational Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
