Job Description

Description We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join a busy legal team in San Diego, California on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This fully onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who is confident supporting active civil litigation matters, balancing multiple priorities, and keeping case activity organized in a fast-moving practice. The assignment is expected to run for 3-4 months initially, with the potential to convert to a longer-term role based on business needs and individual performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with attorneys to coordinate day-to-day support across roughly 25 open litigation matters and help keep each case moving forward.
  • Monitor case activity, client communications, and tax credit-related disputes to ensure information is tracked accurately and addressed promptly.
  • Organize discovery materials, prepare responses and related documentation, and maintain orderly records for production and review.
  • Draft routine pleadings, legal correspondence, and other litigation support documents for attorney review.
  • Oversee court and case calendars by tracking hearings, filing dates, and other critical deadlines to support timely action.
  • Maintain well-structured case files by collecting transcripts, records, exhibits, and supporting documentation in an accessible format.
  • Update case management systems and provide administrative litigation support to maintain accurate matter records and workflow continuity. Requirements
  • Previous experience providing paralegal support in civil litigation matters.
  • Strong ability to manage calendars, monitor deadlines, and keep multiple cases organized at once.
  • Hands-on experience preparing initial drafts of litigation documents and legal correspondence.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Proven skill in prioritizing competing requests and working efficiently under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Clear, effective communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with discovery processes; experience drafting discovery responses or related materials is preferred.
  • Prior law firm litigation experience and proficiency with case management software, e-filing, and trial preparation are advantageous.
