A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Paralegal I Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Six months experience in preparing and maintaining legal documents and case files. Six months experience in data collection which includes collecting, compiling and maintaining data from multiple sources such as files, records, databases, customers, staff or others. Six months experience in analyzing and evaluating data. Knowledge of legal terminology.JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Paralegal II Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: One year experience in preparing and maintaining legal documents and case files. One year experience in legal research such as researching statutes, regulations, case law and background information. One year experience in analyzing and evaluating data. One year experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of interviewing using structured or unstructured interview techniques to obtain facts, explore issues and identify courses of action. Additional Posting Information The State of Delaware recognizes the value of telework and flexible working schedules. This position is eligible for Alternative Work Schedules according to the State of Delaware's Alternative Work Arrangement Policy. More information will be shared at the time of interview. A writing sample will be requested at the time of interview. This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
