Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support a busy general liability practice handling a broad mix of civil litigation matters in Jacksonville, Florida. This Long-term Contract opportunity offers the chance to contribute throughout the life of each case, from initial file development through trial preparation, while working with attorneys in a collaborative legal environment. The role is well suited for someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in insurance defense and related litigation matters.
Responsibilities:
Manage case support activities across all stages of litigation, helping attorneys keep matters moving efficiently from intake through trial readiness. Prepare, serve, and follow up on subpoenas for records, witness appearances, depositions, and other litigation needs while maintaining accurate status tracking. Collect, review, organize, and summarize medical records, billing files, and other case documents to assist with evaluation and strategy. Coordinate with expert witnesses by assembling materials, arranging examinations and depositions, and monitoring disclosure and scheduling deadlines. Support trial preparation by compiling exhibits, drafting witness and exhibit lists, organizing binders, and assisting with logistical planning for hearings and trial. Assist attorneys with drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and other written discovery materials. Track court deadlines, scheduling requirements, discovery cutoffs, and case-related orders to help ensure timely compliance. Perform factual investigations and case research, including reviewing accident reports, background information, and prior claims history where relevant. Help prepare mediation packages, settlement-related documents, and other materials needed for resolution discussions. Maintain orderly electronic and case files, communicate with counsel, clients, experts, and vendors professionally, and elevate case needs or deadline concerns to attorneys promptly. Bachelor's degree or completion of a paralegal program recognized by an approved institution. At least 2 years of experience supporting litigation matters in a paralegal capacity. Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures, deadlines, and document handling requirements. Ability to manage multiple assignments with strong organization, follow-through, and time management skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and outside contacts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and comfort using case management and electronic filing tools. Experience with insurance defense or liability-related litigation is preferred. Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to high-quality work.
