Overview We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in Northwest Florida. The positioned offered will be in-person and offers an exciting opportunity for an applicant to work with a highly experienced attorney who specializes in family law cases. As a vital member of our firm, you will assist the attorney with case management, legal research, document preparation, and client communication. The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional organization, proactive communication, and possess a passion for delivering high-quality legal support. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and other legal databases to support case strategies focused on family law matters. Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, discovery requests, financial affidavits, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail. Prepare exhibit lists, pleadings, and other related documentation for hearings or trials. Manage case files efficiently using document management systems like MyCase, and file sharing applications like DropBox; while ensuring all records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date. Assist attorney with client interviews by gathering relevant information and preparing summaries to facilitate case development. Support procedural law compliance by tracking deadlines, filing documents with courts electronically or in person, and maintaining calendar schedules. Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while maintaining data entry accuracy and filing integrity. Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and supporting project management initiatives within the legal team. Requirements Proven paralegal experience with specific familiarity in Florida family matters. Strong knowledge of procedural law and legal research tools such as LexisNexis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with experience using applications like DropBox and Adobe. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with attorneys; phone etiquette is essential. Experience with legal case management software such as MyCase; familiarity with document drafting and proofreading is highly desirable. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating strong writing skills for legal drafting and support documentation. Proficiency with regards to relevant Florida Statutes, rules of procedure, and case law. A proactive attitude toward research tasks combined with strong proofreading abilities ensures accuracy in all deliverables. Preferred Qualities Familiarity with local court rules. (Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa County) Willingness to assist coworkers with day to day operations when needed. Prior experience or education with basic accounting principles.
