Position Description:
The Paralegal is responsible for administrative duties related to Land/Lot Acquisition contracts for all Davidson Homes divisions. The Paralegal supports attorneys by performing a range of legal tasks, including research, drafting documents, and managing case files.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract administration, maintenance, filing and distribution. Prepare earnest money requests for various deposits and fees pursuant to the contracts. Data entry of project information (lot #, addresses, phasing, etc.). Process certificate of insurance requests. Maintain filing and communication with accounting department and divisions. Log and track critical dates, closing requirements, check requests and contract deadlines. Track and monitor land and lot closings. Draft, review, and edit Letters of Intent, Contracts, Addendums/Amendments, NDAs, and other legal documents as needed. Preparation of summary of relevant terms of legal documents. Coordinate land closings, as necessary. Review contract supporting documentation (i.e., deeds, title commitments, and other ancillary documents). Track and monitor litigation matters; assist with settlement negotiations, and preparation of settlement agreements. Summarizing cases/transactions and preparing reports for VP Corporate Counsel. Organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing cases/transactions. Attend in-person and online meetings. Ability to work with outside counsel in several jurisdictions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certification or Associate's Degree in paralegal studies. A minimum experience of two years in a paralegal role. Investigative mind and strong research skills. Working knowledge legal database software. Experience in preparing legal reports.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Excellent communication and time management skills. Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment. Office administration experience.
