The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, research, and organizational skills while maintaining strict confidentiality in all legal matters. Duties and Responsibilities Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for legal cases. Conduct preliminary legal research and compile information for attorney review. Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, contracts, affidavits, and other legal forms. Organize, maintain, and update confidential case files and legal records. Submit filings to courts. Schedule appointments, meetings, court appearances, and deadlines. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and greet clients professionally. Coordinate with court personnel, witnesses, and other parties regarding case matters and court dates. Establish a system of ensuring all deadlines are met Review police reports, witness statements, and supporting documentation. Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence, and case materials. Process client payments and maintain accurate billing records. Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support daily office operations. Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software Strong legal research and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Exceptional organizational and time-management skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion Professional demeanor and strong client service skills Be proactive and a forward thinker Education and Training Requirements Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred. Paralegal or Legal Assistant certification is a plus. Experience Requirements Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a legal administrative role required. Experience in a law firm or legal department is advantageous. Candidates with transferable administrative, research, or client service experience will be considered. Experience within a specific area of law may be preferred depending on firm needs. Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on education, experience, and qualifications. Starting pay generally ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, with opportunities for advancement based on performance and expertise.
