ABOUT HAWK INJURY LAW
Hawk Injury Law is a Macon, Georgia personal injury firm dedicated to helping injured clients through car accidents, commercial trucking cases, premises liability, wrongful death, workers' compensation, insurance disputes, and other personal injury matters. We are a service oriented, client centered team that relies on organization, attention to detail, technology, and most importantly genuine care for the people we represent. We are looking for a Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast paced litigation environment and takes pride in accurate, timely, detailed, and well organized work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Case Management
  • Open new client files and matters, and maintain organized client and case files
  • Communicate with clients by phone and email regarding case status and scheduling
  • Communicate with insureds, third party carriers, opposing counsel, and internal team members Correspondence & Document Preparation
  • Draft, type, and transcribe legal correspondence, memos, reports, and forms
  • Thoroughly proofread all work for grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and content
  • Prepare and process demand letters Calendar & Deadline Management
  • Maintain attorney's calendar with all appointments and deadlines
  • Track deadlines, court dates, and statutes of limitations
  • Coordinate and calendar meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, court reporters, and conference calls Court & Litigation Support
  • Assist with preparing and submitting State and Federal court filings, including electronic filings. Experience with Pacer, PeachCourts and Odyssey E-Filings Systems & Administrative Support
  • Prepare and submit new client and new matter forms
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, and scheduling
  • Make FedEx mailing runs and bank deposits and other errands as needed
  • Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming client and third-party communications, ensuring calls are handled professionally, routed appropriately, and documented accurately.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients
  • 2+ years of litigation secretarial or legal assistant experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook required; experience with Clio or other case management software strongly preferred
  • Experience in a personal injury law firm strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks under time constraints with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
