Legal Assistant The Rockefeller Law Center is seeking a Legal Assistant as part of a staff expansion in our office. We are promoting our current legal assistant to add a new paralegal to our organization, creating a need for a new hire as a replacement legal assistant. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and comfort with new technologies. The position will require a great deal of contact with clients, insurance adjustors, courts, and other attorneys. Primary responsibilities will consist of gathering medical records, answering the phones, drafting business correspondence, scheduling, intake of new potential clients, and helping the paralegals organize and prepare files for court. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
Applicants should have excellent communication and writing skills and a high degree of comfort with computers and technology. Applicants must be responsible, hard-working, organized, enthusiastic, and "team players." Preference will be given to candidates with office experience, particularly legal work. A college degree is highly desirable but not necessary. We will train if the candidate has untapped potential.

Pay and Benefits:
Competitive pay based on training, experience, and education, usually between $14 and $15 an hour to start for a 90-day training period. After that, a pay increase with medical and retirement benefits will be available.
