A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Mid-size, multi-state law firm looking for a Paralegal to assist Community Association Attorneys in creditor's rights, general counsel and litigation matters with our Idaho clients.
Position Description:
  • Understand state and local court rules, guidelines, case workflow processes
  • Manage and execute daily case workflow of a large volume of matters
  • Draft, review and revise correspondence, documents, and pleadings
  • Legal research, including checking citations
  • Administrative office tasks
  • Type at least 50+ wpm, 10-key
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Proven competencies in general computer programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel
  • FDCPA familiarity (training/testing required) and collections experience
  • Provide 40 hours per week of service, during an agreed-upon schedule of hours, evidenced by daily time punches (in/out)
Position Qualifications:
  • A baccalaureate degree or advanced degree in any subject, with a recommended minimum of two years of experience in a law firm
  • Certificate of completion of an ABA approved paralegal program, with a recommended minimum of two years of experience in a law firm
  • Certificate of completion of a paralegal program at or a degree from a post-secondary institution that requires the successful completion of a minimum 24 semester or equivalent units in law-related courses and that has been accredited by a national or regional accrediting organization, with a recommended minimum of two years of experience in a law firm
  • HOA law firm experience a plus Full benefits are available after 90 days.
