Job Description
Our high-volume, fast-paced family law firm is seeking an experienced and highly organized Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of Family Law. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, can manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintains professionalism when working with clients experiencing difficult personal situations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities Draft and prepare legal documents including petitions, motions, responses, financial affidavits, discovery, and correspondence. Maintain and organize case files for multiple active matters including divorce, custody, support, and post-decree issues. Assist attorneys with case preparation for hearings, mediation, depositions, and trial. Manage case calendars, court deadlines, and scheduling. Communicate with clients regarding case status, document collection, and procedural questions. Coordinate with court clerks, opposing counsel, and third parties. Prepare and respond to discovery including interrogatories, requests to produce, and subpoenas. Review and summarize financial records, pleadings, and case materials. E-file pleadings and maintain compliance with court filing requirements. Assist with billing entries and time tracking as required. Qualifications Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience preferred. 2+ years of experience in family law or litigation preferred. Strong knowledge of court procedures and legal document preparation. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive matters. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software. Preferred Skills Experience with e-filing systems. Familiarity with financial affidavits and discovery in family law matters. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with attorneys and staff.
