A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Qualifications:
Experience in litigation support and case management. Ability to adapt to changes in work environment and manage multiple cases, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience drafting and organizing discovery - both written discovery and document production. Experience preparing for and assisting at trial. Familiarity with the State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedures. Experience with Summation Pro, Relativity, or comparable litigation support software. Excellent analytical and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Key Responsibilities:
Communicate professionally, productively, and efficiently with clients, contacts, attorneys, other paralegals, and all other professional staff. Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, performing factual and legal research, reviewing, and analyzing documents, and supporting preparations for hearings, depositions, and mediations. Review, gather, and organize client documents from production to discovery. Research, organize, and summarize records as needed to assist in data gathering, including organizing information and documents in databases. Assist with preparing discovery requests and responses. Assist in trial preparation, including drafting pre-trial pleadings, preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses and requests with outside vendors, and live trial support. Other duties as assigned.
