A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

High SchoolResponsibilities Manage State Filings & Dockets:
Prepare and e-file Form 101 (Application for Resolution of a Claim), Form 102, motions, and appellate briefs through the Kentucky Department of Workers' Claims (DWC) electronic system.Retrieve & Summarize Medical Evidence:
Request, organize, and index extensive treatment records, IME reports, and medical bills, drafting summaries to evaluate permanent partial disability (PPD) ratings under the AMA Guides.Coordinate Discovery & Depositions:
Draft interrogatories and requests for production, coordinate depositions for medical experts and vocational evaluators, and prepare necessary exhibit lists for hearings.Calculate Wage & Benefit Data:
Analyze client wage records to accurately calculate Average Weekly Wage (AWW) and corresponding temporary total disability (TTD) or permanent disability benefit rates under Kentucky state law.Client & Adjuster Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients to provide status updates, while liaising with insurance adjusters, nurse case managers, and healthcare providers to monitor treatment authorization.Hearing & Mediation Preparation:
Assist attorneys in preparing trial binders, settlement evaluations, and mediation packets for proceedings before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs).
