Pelton and Balducci, LLC is looking for an immigration paralegal to add to our team. Located in New Orleans' Central Business District, our firm handles family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian immigration cases, along with deportation defense. Our clients come from all over the world. A strong candidate is enthusiastic, hard-working, dependable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented. This role involves document review, data entry, drafting, proofreading, deadline management, and client follow-up. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple active cases simultaneously and working as part of a team. Applicants must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish. This is a full-time, in-person position. Applicants must be able to work in person at our New Orleans Central Business District Office. Prior experience as an immigration paralegal is strongly preferred, but we can train the right person if you don't have prior immigration experience. Requirements:

Professional fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages in a professional office setting Reliability and punctuality Attention to detail Ability to follow directions accurately and consistently Ability to work as a team player Ability to take initiative and to solve problems Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Time-management skills, including the ability to use timekeeping software accurately and consistently Strong verbal and written communication skills Commitment to treating clients, colleagues, and visitors with respect and professionalism Commitment to supporting and assisting clients as they seek resolution of their legal matters Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications quickly Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): Prior experience in immigration law Proficiency in an additional language Bachelor's degree

Duties:

Work directly with clients to complete immigration applications and gather supporting documentation. Manage an active caseload to ensure clients progress through their cases and all deadlines are met. Provide bilingual client support and communicate with clients in both English and Spanish regarding case status, document requests, and legal processes. Draft client declarations in both English and Spanish. Communicate with clients regarding case developments, requirements, and next steps in accordance with attorney instructions. Prepare filings for submission to immigration agencies Revise applications, declarations, and other case materials based on feedback received through the firm's attorney review process. Communicate with agencies and entities, including USCIS, the Immigration Court, police departments, and court clerks, to request documents, records, and case-related information. Provide clients with account and billing information as needed. Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
