Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Paralegal / Legal Assistant to work in a small firm in Burlington, Massachusetts. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in various areas of the legal field, including real estate, civil litigation, and others. : Opening real estate files and ordering necessary documentation, completing title work, creating and updating HUDs and CDs for residential and commercial purchases, coordinating with clients, lender representatives, and attorneys, cutting disbursement checks, and title policy creation. Drafting legal documents for attorneys, doing legal research and client intakes, filing items in court, maintaining case files, and other legal support as needed ordering supplies, answering phones and greeting clients, managing office administrative accounts and paying bills, preparing bank deposit slips, and other duties as needed : Bachelor's degree Experience working in an office environment Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel An interest in the legal field : Experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a law firm or other legal setting Experience with E-Closing and/or Quicken Knowledge of real estate transactions Knowledge of basic accounting practices The ideal candidate must have a professional demeanor and a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be proactive and be able to work both independently and with others on cases. The candidate must have strong communication skills to interact professionally and courteously with both attorneys and clients. Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm Excluding federal holidays Commensurate with experience Additionally, the candidate must have reliable transportation to commute to the office and other locations (i.e., court), as needed. Our office is located off of Route 128/I-95, right near the Burlington Mall. There is an MBTA bus stop near the building, and the Commuter Rail stop is about 15-20 minutes away in Woburn.
