About Us:
We are a small, general practice law firm, with over 25 years of experience, dedicated to providing pragmatic and effective solutions to our clients. Our team handles a variety of legal matters, including Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Hackney Carriage/Taxi Transactions, Lender Liability Regulations, and Asset Recovery.Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Paralegal to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to provide support to our attorneys in a fast-paced, professional environment. Recent college graduates and part-time/night law students welcome to apply.Key Responsibilities:
Support all phases of real estate transactions with tasks such as document preparation, loan closing documents, deeds, powers of attorney, and title commitments. Order and track title reports, plot plans and municipal lien certificates. Handle files from start to finish, including handling all pre and post closing matters (coordinating closings, conducting electronic recordings, disbursement of funds and completion of final closing packages). Prepare settlement statements and closing disclosures for commercial and residential transactions, ensuring balancing of numbers and correct allocation of funds. Conduct in-depth title examinations and prepare title reports, identify and clear title issues, and update title searches throughout the transaction lifecycle to ensure marketable title at closing. Work closely with attorneys, lenders and clients on closings and other legal matters. Provide general administrative and paralegal support, including document management, file organization, deadline tracking, and participation in special projects or legal initiatives as needed by the real estate or legal team. Assist with all aspects of the foreclosure process, including preparing and filing legal documents with Land Court, tracking deadlines, coordinating with lenders, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree required; further education or certification in legal studies is a plus. Prior experience as a paralegal (required). Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
