Job Description

We are a busy law practice in North Andover, MA, looking for an organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a sole practitioner law practice handling cases in MA and NH. In this role, you will work closely with our attorney to keep our cases moving forward smoothly and ensure our office runs efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on organization, handles multi-tasking with ease, and wants hands-on experience in case management and document preparation.
Key Responsibilities Case Preparation & Research :
Actively support attorneys by conducting legal research, gathering necessary case details, and organizing physical and electronic files so everything is ready for review.
Document Drafting:
Prepare, review, and proofread essential legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
File Management:
Maintain our filing system (both digital and hard copy), keeping all client information secure, highly organized, and easily accessible for the team.
Office Coordination:
Manage case timelines, track deadlines, and communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel as needed. Qualifications Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a fast-paced administrative role. Strong written and verbal communication skills (you will be drafting formal documents and speaking with clients daily). Exceptional organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint) for drafting documents and managing data; Adobe and Dropbox; e-filing pleadings electronically. Ability to handle sensitive client information with complete confidentiality. Reliable, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple case deadlines at once.
Pay:
$25.00 per hour
