Job Description
Paralegal
Qualifications & Experience:
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum of two (2) years of collections experience, preferably within Community Associations law in a law firm setting
- Proven ability to manage a large, deadline-driven caseload with minimal supervision
- Experience handling high-volume collections matters from referral through resolution, including communication with homeowners and property managers
- Familiarity with collections procedures and applicable debt collection laws and regulations, including liens, judgments, and garnishments
- Experience tracking accounts, payments, and deadlines using a case management system
- Ability to accurately calculate balances, interest, late fees, and attorneys' fees
- Proficiency in preparing legal correspondence and pleadings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with attorneys and staff
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
