Job Description

Shulman Rogers seeks a Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Landlord-Tenant practice group within the Litigation Department at the Firm's Potomac office. This position will play a central role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia. Prepare and maintain template documents and files. Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation. Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and other appointments. Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, litigation dates and reminders. Assist accounting, clients, and attorneys with invoicing questions.
Qualifications and Skills:
5+ years of administrative or secretarial support experience in a litigation department or practice. E-filing of pleadings in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular expertise in Microsoft Word; experience with document management software (iManage preferred) and other litigation software.
