Job Description

We're seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will use their experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Compensation:
$64,000 - $90,000 yearly based on experience (performance-based incentives tied to billables and results).

Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed 120 billable hours per month Communicate with clients, experts, and other parties; provide case updates and gather information Monitor case progress, deadlines, and key milestones Draft legal documents, including: Pleadings, motions, court documents, marital settlement agreements, reports, forms, chronologies, and indexes Prepare cases for mediations, hearings, and trials Manage discovery , including preparing and organizing responses Conduct legal research on laws and case precedents Assist attorneys in court as needed Enter billable and non-billable time accurately and consistently Perform administrative tasks (calls, filing, document organization) Coordinate subpoenas and work with process servers Prepare exhibits, organize witnesses, and support trial preparation Draft legal documents such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, briefs, and affidavits Conduct client interviews and gather relevant case information
Qualifications:
Completed a paralegal program (Associate's or equivalent); Bachelor's preferred 3+ years of experience in a law firm under an attorney Experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary is a plus Required Skills Strong multitasking ability Excellent written and verbal communication Strong client-facing/customer service skills Ability to handle difficult or emotional clients professionally Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal staff Preferred ABA-approved paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education About Company At Z Family Law, we believe every ending is the start of a new beginning.
