Job Description

Probate Paralegal / Legal Assistant Part-time/temporary | In office | The Law Offices of Matthew L. Joswick, PLLC, is seeking a temporary, part-time Legal Assistant for an in-office role supporting an estate planning and probate-focused practice. This is a substantive position for a professional who can help manage estate planning and probate matters with limited supervision, draft estate planning documents, pleadings and correspondence for attorney review, communicate effectively with clients and third parties, and keep files moving efficiently. Our work is primarily estate planning and probate and estate administration, with additional related matters. We are looking for someone interested in a temporary, part-time role, with potential for more, in a stable small-firm environment. Primary responsibilities Assist with estate planning and probate matters from opening through routine administration Draft estate planning documents, probate pleadings, letters, and related correspondence for attorney review Communicate with clients, courts, financial institutions, and other involved parties Maintain organized digital files, calendars, email records, and case notes Follow firm systems and office procedures consistently Qualifications At least 2 years of estate planning and probate experience strongly preferred, but not required Ability to handle routine estate planning and probate matters with limited supervision Strong written and verbal communication Strong organization, professionalism, and follow-through Comfort with significant client contact Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Calendars, PDF tools, case-management software, and electronic filing systems We are open to either an experienced paralegal or a strong legal assistant who can grow into the role. Compensation will depend on experience and ability.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
