You'll work directly with our attorneys on serious personal injury cases, from filing through trial, with the autonomy to run your own files and the trust that comes with it. If you're the kind of paralegal who catches the missing attachment before anyone else notices, treats a court deadline like it's sacred, and would rather ask a clarifying question than guess, we want to talk to you. We ideally are looking for someone who has supported at least two full personal injury trials from start through verdict. This is primarily a remote job; you must be within 45 minutes of our Bloomington office for weekly meetings.
Compensation:
$65,000 - $72,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Calendar and verify every litigation deadline against the source document, no exceptions. Draft pleadings, discovery, and correspondence for attorney review. Assemble complete, checklist-verified expert disclosure packets before they go out the door. Coordinate deposition logistics (court reporters, videographers, exhibits) well ahead of the date. Keep case files clean enough that any attorney can find what they need in seconds. Support mediation, arbitration, and trial prep so nothing becomes a last-minute scramble. Flag problems early. We'd rather hear about a wrinkle on day one than find out on the deadline.
Qualifications:
Prior litigation paralegal experience, ideally in plaintiff personal injury. Experience in Minnesota state courts is strongly preferred. You double-check your own work before it goes back to an attorney. You get more organized under pressure, not less. You ask when something's unclear instead of guessing. You've independently owned a complex, deadline-driven project and can tell us how you kept it from falling apart. Comfort learning and using case management technology (we use Clio, Eve, Notion). About Company We are a plaintiff's personal injury firm serving clients across Minnesota. Founded in 2001 and now co-led by attorneys James Betz and Zachary Port, we are committed to helping people rebuild after life-changing injuries. Our work is guided by our core values: People Come First Zealous Advocacy Integrity in Everything Incremental Innovation Setting the Bar for Excellence At Betz & Port, you'll join an exciting, growing team, where you'll be central to our mission of restoring lives after tragedy.
