Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Overview 3 attorney law office specializing in family law, and estate planning ,seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team. Recent college graduates are preferred Ideal candidate is someone who wants to attend law school and be an attorney. Historically, we have had over seven individuals in this position who are now lawyers or currently attending law school. This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to learn the law with hands-on experience and with an opportunity to parlay that experience into law school acceptance. Many of our prior legal assistants have obtained significant academic law school scholarships. Duties
  • Assist attorney in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, estate planning docs, financial summaries and correspondence.
  • Gather relevant information for cases
  • Manage and organize case files and maintain document control
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, billing, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
  • Communicate with clients and court personnel professionally
  • Utilize legal software such as westlaw and Excel.
  • Handle clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry Qualifications
  • College degree required with demonstrated academic excellence. Excellent writing ability.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and multitask.
  • Familiarity with Family Law or estate planning is a plus
  • Proficiency in using excel and Word
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$19.50
  • $20.50 per hour Expected hours: 35
