Job Description
Ascendo Resources is partnering with a well-established law firm in Charlotte, NC that is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to support its Business Litigation and Employment practice groups. Role:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day), with occasional overtime as needed. This will be onsite for the first 90 days and then eligible for hybrid work.Responsibilities:
Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and employment-related filings Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts on litigation and employment matters Review and summarize depositions, personnel files, and discovery materials Assist with trial preparation and provide in-court support, including managing electronic presentations, coordinating witnesses, and organizing exhibits Manage e-discovery databases and electronic employment records Assist with document productions in litigation and regulatory matters Conduct legal and internet research on business and employment law issues Prepare and manage electronic filings in federal and state courtsRequirements:
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business litigation and/or employment law (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Proficiency with legal time and billing systems Large case management and trial experience strongly preferred Experience with eDiscovery software preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with trial presentation software preferred Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills Ability to juggle multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues during busy periods Proficiency in federal and state electronic filing systems Our client offers competitive salary and generous benefits.
