Job Description

Parks Zeigler, PLLC is looking for a versatile legal receptionist to assist our clients at our Elizabeth City location. We are a paperless law office that utilizes modern technologies in streamlining the practice of law, such as a cloud-based practice management system allowing 24/7 access by our clients to their files, and multiple monitors for workstations. As we are always trying to improve our systems and procedures, if learning new software/hardware scares you, this isn't the right fit. If you enjoy improving the client experience while delivering exceptional client service, this may be a good match. As the firm believes strongly in a collaborative work environment, we are seeking a dependable team player who can communicate clearly, take ownership and responsibility for their files, professionally and effectively work with all our attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts in person, by e-mail, and telephone/video conference. Applicants must possess the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment. Candidates must also be able to follow written and verbal instructions and quickly adapt to changes in workflow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Welcoming clients and visitors upon arrival at reception. Answering, screening, and forwarding phone calls in a professional manner. Assisting clients and visitors with the location of legal staff. Scheduling and confirming appointments. Observing business etiquette and maintaining a professional appearance. Directing the flow of mail, faxes, and deliveries to reach the intended recipients. Ordering and replenishing office supplies. Managing the maintenance and repair of office equipment. Assisting with copying, scanning, faxing, emailing, note-taking, and travel bookings. Preparing meeting facilities, and arranging refreshments, if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Extensive experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, printers, copiers, scanners, faxes, and appointment scheduling and call forwarding systems. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The firm offers unlimited unpaid time off, with approval by your attorneys, and for PTO for the first through third year of employment you will receive 12 hours per month to be credited on the first day of employment and front loaded for the first 6 months giving you a PTO bank of 72 hours.
