Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Role:
The Paralegal performs a variety of responsible paralegal work in support of the City Attorney's Office.
Key duties include:
Conducting legal research, analysis, and interpretation involving all areas of the law with an emphasis on real property, collections, and litigation assistance. Drafting legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and contracts. Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings, trials, and administrative proceedings. Organizing case files and maintaining accurate legal records. Coordinating and communicating effectively with staff, attorneys, public officials, and the general public. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Associate Degree in Paralegal Program with 1-3 years of experience in a Law Office " OR" Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Criminal Justice, Political Science, English, or Paralegal Studies) with six months of experience in a
Law Office North Carolina Paralegal Certification Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Criminal Justice, Political Science, English or Paralegal Studies) Experience working for the government.
