Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented intern, or Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will support a diverse range of legal practices by managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting attorneys with case and trial preparation. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth case workflows and contribute to the delivery of exceptional legal services. This is a 1099/contract position that offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise across multiple practice areas while supporting a collaborative and innovative environment. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development across various practice areas including criminal, estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more. Manage and organize case files using document management systems like Clio, ensuring all documents are accurate, complete, and easily accessible. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity. Assist attorney with client interviews by preparing questions, taking detailed notes, and summarizing key information for case analysis. Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, filing, and maintaining meticulous records of case activities. Coordinate project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives to ensure deadlines are met efficiently. Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing communications via phone etiquette, and organizing meetings or court appearances. Qualifications Proven paralegal experience with familiarity in multiple practice areas such as criminal, family, estate planning, immigration law, consumer/debtor law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, or litigation. Strong research skills; experience with legal research is essential. Proficiency in legal case management software including Clio; experience with document review systems is preferred. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; attention to detail is critical. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Experience in conducting interviews effectively and supporting litigation or administrative processes. Strong clerical experience including data entry, filing systems, proofreading, and document management systems. Effective communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette; ability to work alone or collaboratively within a team environment.
