Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Van Camp, Meacham & Newman, PLLC is a premier, full-service law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal counsel. Our growing real estate practice group is seeking a highly organized and detailed-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to support our attorneys in our fast-paced Rockingham office by managing all aspects of real estate closings from contract to post-closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage real estate transactions from start to finish, including ordering title searches, preparing title commitments, and closing documents. Prepare and review closing disclosures, settlement statements (ALTA), deeds, and loan documents. Order title searches and identify issues that may impact closing. Order and review title insurance, surveys, payoff statements, and lien searches. Communicate with clients, lenders, realtors, and title companies. Schedule and facilitate closings. E-recording of deeds and deeds of trusts. Maintain organized closing files and ensure compliance with all firm policies. Handle post-closing matters including disbursements, final title policies, and file archiving. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Associate degree preferred; Paralegal certification a plus. Preferred 2-4 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience - real estate preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with closing software (SoftPro) a plus. Knowledge of North Carolina real estate procedures. Experience working with clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Able to prioritize deadlines. This is a full-time, in-office (not remote) position.
